Earth Friendly Products is one of my most favorite brands to use in the kitchen and laundry room. Their products are reasonably priced and effective at what they are designed to do. Best of all, they are safe for both the environment (100% biodegradable) and consumers. I’ve decided to do a review because I’ve tried several different brands of liquid dish soap, dishwasher detergent, and laundry detergent, and I always find myself returning to Earth Friendly Products.

The dish soap, known as Dishmate, comes in several different scents, each of which smell amazing. I usually only buy the almond and pear scented bottles (the dish soap also comes in apricot, grapefruit, lavender, and unscented), though. A little will go a very long way and the soap rinses away easily without leaving behind any residue. After washing dishes, my hands are not left dry, either. One 25oz bottle will last about 3-4 months between my room mate and I, and we usually use 5-7 times per week.

For a dishwasher detergent, I’ve settled with using the Wave Gel. I’ve tried over green dishwasher detergents and was left disappointed. The Wave Gel does not leave behind any residue. Most of our dishes come out clean, except for the occasional dish, but I partly blame that on a very old dishwasher. We run our dishwasher once every 3 or 4 days and this 40z bottle lasts about 6-8 weeks.

For my laundry, I use the Ecos Laundry Detergent. I usually always buy the lavender scented kind, but Magnolia & Lilies, Lemongrass, and unscented are also available. The detergent is gentle on clothing (I have not noticed any breakdown of fabric or loss of color) and reasonably priced. It also contains a built-in softener. After washing, my clothes have a light lavender scent to them, but unfortunately this scent doesn’t last as long as it would with conventional softeners. However, no scent is better than a repulsive one, right? A 100 oz bottle will last about 3-4 months (I do about 7-10 loads of laundry each month), but I once managed to stretch it 6 months.

I purchase my dish soap and laundry detergent at Fresh and Easy, and my dishwasher detergent at Whole Foods. Whole Foods has a greater selection on dish soap scents, but they charge more per bottle than Fresh and Easy. You can click here to locate a store near you that carries Earth Friendly Products, or you can shop in their online store.
